Misting images

Some friends asked me how I create the misted images.
Then I decided to make this page.

There are several ways but I prefer this one
which I learned with Blaze

Here I show some tries I made with this technique.

I adapted to myself. That's what you can also make.

In this case I used only images .jpg.

Now let's begin:

1- Duplicate your image.

2- Use the selection tools, Point to Point or Edge Seeker (PSP9)
to make a selection - screen1

3- In this second layer still with selection apply Gaussian blur: 30.

4- Go to the layers palette and change the Normal mode to Darken- screen 2

5- Choose the opacity you want.

6- Merge all.

That's all!

Another exemples

Now let's your creativity working.

In this example I used Luminance mode.

Here I used Xenofex, stain, to accentuate only the flower edges.

Here I replaced the Normal mode by Dissolve.

I hope you will enjoy this technique.
